Odinma Health provides telehealth psychiatric care to teens and adults located anywhere in Arizona, including Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa, Scottsdale, Flagstaff and smaller communities. Care for Arizona patients is delivered entirely by secure video. This page explains what is offered, and it is direct about one important limit on prescribing so you can decide whether the practice is a fit before you book.

Who provides the care

Care is provided by Jennifer Madu, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner licensed to care for patients in Arizona. A psychiatric nurse practitioner evaluates and diagnoses mental health conditions, prescribes and monitors medication when clinically appropriate, and can provide brief talk therapy.

What we treat for Arizona patients

Common reasons Arizona patients seek care include depression, anxiety and panic, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, insomnia and ADHD. Care may include medication management with non-controlled medications when appropriate, brief talk therapy using cognitive behavioral and solution-focused approaches, and guidance on sleep, exercise and other lifestyle factors. Treatment is individualized, and results vary.

Prescribing for Arizona patients

No controlled medications are prescribed to patients located in Arizona. This applies to all conditions, including ADHD, anxiety and sleep. Arizona patients can be evaluated and treated with non-controlled medication options, including non-controlled options for ADHD, along with therapy and lifestyle strategies. Medication of any kind is prescribed only after an evaluation and only when clinically appropriate, and an appointment does not guarantee a prescription.

If you are specifically seeking a controlled medication, this practice will not be able to provide it in Arizona, and a local in-person provider may be a better fit.

How visits work

  • First visit: a 60-minute video evaluation covering your history, symptoms and goals.
  • Follow-up visits: 30 minutes.
  • What you need: a device with a camera, a reliable internet connection and a private place to talk. You must be located in Arizona at the time of the visit.

Insurance and payment in Arizona

For Arizona patients, Odinma Health accepts Aetna, Cigna (Evernorth), BlueCross BlueShield, UnitedHealthcare (Optum), Magellan, and MINES & Associates. Self-pay is also available. Medicare and Medicaid are not accepted. Coverage depends on your plan, so please confirm your benefits with your insurer.

How to get started

New patients ages teens and up are welcome. To schedule, visit the Contact page and choose the Arizona booking option. More answers are in the FAQ.

Odinma Health does not provide emergency or crisis care. If you are in crisis, call 911 or call or text 988.
